Global Youth Safety in Urban Environments Competition

A photo, drawing and video contest to give young people a voice.

The Global Youth Safety in Urban Environments Competition is a global photo, drawing and video contest for young people between 15 and 24 years old. From 3 August to 7 September, we received more than 150 beautiful entries from young people representing 33 countries from around the world about a safety concern in their urban environment.

We selected 20 finalists and, from 8 to 13 September, these entries could be voted upon (LIKED) by the general public through this album on the ICLEI Global Facebook page.

The winners were announced on 13 September through an online event (recording available here).

Aims

ICLEI and GIB Foundation launched this contest to understand what safety and security issues young people face in their cities.

Stay connected for further updates: we will launch new opportunities to engage youth perspectives on safety and security as we develop this program in selected cities.

Follow us on social media! GIB is on LinkedIn while ICLEI is on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
