Australia’s 1.94 million streetlights are now responsible for 1.15 million tonnes CO2e per year. To accelerate the uptake of sustainable public lighting technologies and practices, the Sustainable Public Lighting Toolbox is a ‘one-stop-shop’ which enables councils to find out about public lighting regulations and projects, access guidelines, tools and case studies and keep up-to-date with sustainable public lighting news and events.

Increasingly, local governments are looking for integrated ways to improve their emissions reporting and their decision-making with quality data management processes and systems.
The Energy and Emissions Data Management Project assisted ten councils from around Australia to develop an integrated data management strategy for their whole organisation.

The Switch IT Over project provides councils with the resources and support to make the switch to energy efficient and best practice management of computers, monitors, servers, faxes, photocopiers, printers and scanners.

The Sustainable Transport project offers a range of tools and resources to enable CCP Councils to achieve greenhouse gas reductions, and other benefits, in the transport sector through the application of sustainable transport principles, policies and practice.
ICLEI Oceania also works in partnership with the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth) to quantify and promote the business case for the benefits of Active Transport.
