Edmonton Leads the World with ecoMobility Project
The City of Edmonton is the first city in the world to implement an ecoMobility project with the Global Alliance for EcoMobility. The project will encourage the use of travel options which are healthy, accessible and flexible, good for the environment and encourage vibrant and livable neighbourhoods.
Local Motion, a month long Community Demonstration Project, will be hosted by the Parkallen community and will set an example for other cities around the world.
The demonstration project takes place during June 2009 and will overlap with the ICLEI World Congress. This international environmental conference will put the City of Edmonton on the world stage and highlight our role as an environmental leader.
