CCP Australia NSW State ForumClimate Change Mitigation in a Changing Context - What Role for Local Government?7 May 2009The NSW CCP State Forum, Climate Change Mitigation in a Changing Context – What role for Local Government? was hosted by Penrith City Council. The forum provided elected members, managers and council officers the opportunity to hear from a range of experts on the new context in which councils are carrying out the climate mitigation efforts. The morning session included an update from climate scientist Ann Hendersen-Sellers on the latest climate science, presentations on the implications of the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme from the Department of Climate Change, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Total Environment Centre and discussion of the opportunities of council-community collaboration from Leichhardt Council and their local climate action group. The afternoon session featured a presentation on the findings of the CCP energy and emissions information management project, case studies on information management from Penrith and Pittwater Councils and discussion on information management best practice for councils. ICLEI Oceania would like to thank the speakers for giving their time on the day. Presentations are now available for download:
