Edmonton's Musicians Come Together for Sustainablity

Members of some of Edmonton's most prominent bands will form the That's Edmonton For You! Indie Rock Orchestra and perform at the city's Louise McKinney Riverfront Park on June 14 from noon to 3 p.m.

The free That's Edmonton For You! event features a suite of new songs about sustainable communities, which balance the social, economic and environmental aspects of a place to meet the needs of its current and future residents. It will be held in connection with the ICLEI World Congress on sustainability, which takes place in Edmonton from June 14 to 18.

The Wet Secrets' Trevor Anderson was commissioned by the city to produce and direct That's Edmonton For You!. He's joined in the orchestra by Roland Pemberton (Cadence Weapon), Paul Arnusch (The Whitsundays, Faunts), Lyle Bell (Whitey Houston, The Wet Secrets, Shout Out Out Out Out), Colleen Brown (The Secretaries), Scott Davidchuk (The Get Down, The Whitsundays), Gravy (Whitey Houston, Shout Out Out Out Out), Nik Kozub (Shout Out Out Out Out), Doug Organ (Red Ram, Edmontone Studio), Amy Van Keeken (The Secretaries), Ted Wright (The Get Down, The James T. Kirks) and string arranger and violist Moni Mathew.

More acts may be announced shortly and details are available on the That's Edmonton For You! website.
