PECHA KUCHA 4

Tokyo´s Klein Dytham Architecture first devised Pecha Kucha, the Japanese phrase for `the sound of chitchat' in 2003, as a night for  young creatives to meet, network and discuss their projects.

The catch: each presenter gives a presentation containing only 20 images, each  shown for 20 seconds, for a total presentation length of six minutes 40  seconds. These constraints challenge presenters to clarify their ideas and match each thought with the perfect image.

After three sold-out events, Next Gen concluded its first series of PK nights with a sustainability themed Pecha Kucha in celebration of the ICLEI World Congress. Sustainability reaches far beyond the reduce,  reuse, recycle mandate that many Next Geners grew-up with and Edmonton´s Next Gen wants to explore its widest terms. Presenters at PKN4 were encouraged to explore sustainability™s social, environmental, fiscal, political, design and cultural facets. In addition to provocative ideas and lively presentations, PKN4 featured great food, a cash bar and tunes provided by one of Edmonton's freshest DJs.
