It's our earth expo: extended until 10 May 2009

The "It’s our Earth!" exhibition is based on the concept of sustainable development, as defined in the Brundtland report as "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs ". Earth can survive without humans, but humans can’t survive without the Earth’s resources. Sustainable development has therefore become a real emergency: recent decades have been marked by an incredible acceleration in mankind’s use of the Earth’s resources.

The "It’s our Earth!" exhibition is designed with this perspective: the reconciliation of development with the planet’s resources, without placing blame, but without ignoring the issues either. The exhibition won the prize for “Best Touristical Event 2008”.

It’s our Earth exhibition begins in Brussels, which the Belgian government would like to make the European capital of sustainable development by 2010. The scope of the exhibition is therefore decidedly European: discussions are already underway to present it to other European capitals.
