Hosted by UN-HABITAT, the main purpose of this meeting was to demonstrate, disseminate and up-scale sustainable consumption and production - SCP/LA21 Anglophone Africa’s partners’ collective ability to transform the innovations promoted through application of environmental planning and management processes into significant physical improvements to the lives of the urban poor, supported by appropriate policy changes at the local, national and global levels.
A presentation was given about ICLEI Africa and how they can provide support on “the road to Copenhagen and beyond” through their climate change initiative (ACCE Network). Much interest was shown in the work that ICLEI is doing and how African cities can get involved.
