Helen Scott – Manager, Sustainability Services

Prior to joining ICLEI Oceania in early 2007, Helen was Corporate Program Manager with Global Sustainability at RMIT University, where she worked with corporate clients on a range of sustainability projects including organisational sustainability gap assessment for business, mentoring and training, project managing sustainability reporting for clients and sustainability research.

Combining her passion for sustainability and expertise in marketing and communications, Helen Scott co-authored Carbon Offset Providers in Australia 2007, a comprehensive report that provides comparative information regarding offsetting services available. In addition, Helen worked on Oxfam Australia’s advisory group in the development of their climate change policy.

As the Manager of Sustainability Services, Helen combines a range of interactive and facilitated approaches with her specialist knowledge, strategic advice and technical skill to ensure councils are equipped with well-developed knowledge and understanding to incorporate sustainability and triple bottom line principles into everyday operations.

Scott Knights – Sustainability Program Officer, Sustainability Services

Scott Knights is the Sustainability Program Officer for Sustainability Services. Previous to joining ICLEI Oceania in February 2009, Scott worked in marketing, property and the financial services sector. His passion for creating greater sustainability within the environment, business and communities lead him to studying a graduate certificate in sustainability.

Alongside his work at ICLEI Oceania, Scott is currently working on a Greenhouse Reduction Project with Deakin University, which aims at helping communities and small medium enterprises reduce their use of energy, waste and water through education and capacity building programs.

Scott is also currently involved in implementing a sustainability initiative through piloting a ‘green office’ program. Working with a group of sustainability change agents, this innovative program builds on a combination of current sustainability frameworks and has a focus on creating sustained behaviour change.
