- Hume City Council fleet fuel includes biodiesel: This case study highlights council's use of federal funding in switching 100 fleet vehicles to 20% biodiesel fuel. The project required minimal funding from council and mitigates over 200 tonnes of CO2e per annum.
- Walking and Bicycle pathways: Surf Coast Shire's strategy to provide comprehensive walking and bicycle pathways throughout the Shire included an innovative consultation process that involved multiple council departments, community groups and regional alliances. The increased pathways use will achieve savings in greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs, as well as encouraging active lifestyles.
