LAB represented at the Urban Biodiversity & Design Conference (May 2008)

LAB was represented by members of the Project Team and Steering Committee at the Urbio 2008 urban biodiversity and design conference held from 21 to 24 May in Erfurt, Germany. In a session titled “Enhancing Urban nature through a Global network of Local Governments”, Andre Mader from the LAB Project Team presented the LAB project and some of its advances to an enthusiastic audience, many of whom had questions afterwards about joining the initiative. The conference was largely science-oriented, though issues of policy did also emerge. The event was well attended and full of constructive dialogue from participants from all over the world, and made an appropriate lead up to the CBD COP 9 in nearby Bonn.
