ICLEI's contributions to make the United Nations sustainable - UNEP Sustainable Procurement guidelines on office IT equipment released
Guidelines to meet high environmental and social standards
ICLEI developed the UNEP Sustainable Procurement guidelines on office IT equipment that support the United Nations (UN) procurement activities to become sustainable by end of 2009. The guidelines are designed to support both UN requisitioners and procurers to purchase computers, notebooks, displays and imaging equipment that meets high environmental and social standards.
Guidelines for six world regions
They are based on common UN procurement procedures and provide copy-and-paste sustainability criteria applicable for six regions (Europe, North America, South America, South-east Asia, Middle-east and South-west Africa).
Procura+ Campaign
UNEP is a participant of the Procura+ Campaign that supports public authorities and other organisations in implementing sustainable procurement and promoting their achievements.
