Accommodation

The City of Edmonton recommends a number of selected hotels close to the venue, listed below. Participants are asked to be responsible for their own hotel booking, by contacting the hotels directly. Please make sure that you book your accommodation as soon as possible.

General hotel information

  • In most cases, the same hotel rate applies whether one or two people are occupying the room. This means that two people can share a room and pay the same rate together as a single person would!
  • Breakfast is not included in the price of the hotels, with the exception of the University of Alberta Residence. However, the City of Edmonton will generously provide a light breakfast to be served every morning at the conference venue.
  • All hotels are drop-off points for the airport shuttle; people being accommodated at the University of Alberta Residence can be left at one of the downtown hotels and then continue with the Light Rail Transit System. More information on how to move around Edmonton can be found here.

Please click here or in the menu on the left for an overview of recommended hotels, including special rates for World Congress 2009 participants. See the map below for the locations of the hotels in relation to the Shaw Conference Centre, the venue of the World Congress.

These hotels are also recommended due to their advanced greening policies.
