Before You Go
Here you can find helpful tips for preparing your visit and useful information for your stay in Canada.
There will be a number of activities which are not part of the official program, organised by the City and Citizens of Edmonton. Every morning at 7 am, you can meet at the back deck of the Shaw Conference Centre and go on a FREE guided walk or run in the beautiful River Valley. More information can be found by clicking here.
On Sunday, 14 June, from 8:30 to 13:00 those participants not taking part to the regional meetings can join an optional tour of the Beaver Hills. For 65 $ Cdn, the journey includes stops at Strathcona County Wilderness Centre, Parks Canada, Elk Island National Park and Province of Alberta’s Cooking late/Blackfoot Recreation Area. There will be a free afternoon of new music on Sunday, June 14, 2009 from Noon to 15:00 at Louise McKinney Riverfront Park, just down the hill from the Shaw Conference Centre. For more information visit the following website: www.thatsedmontonforyou.com.
Edmonton Day, 16 June, includes a free (for participants) side event, Pecha Kucha Night 4. In addition to provocative ideas and lively presentations, PKN4 features great food, a cash bar and tunes provided by one of Edmonton's freshest DJs.
