The event included presentations by several LAB city Mayors: Mayor Carlos Alberto Richa of Curitiba, Mayor Gerald Tremblay of Montreal, Lady Mayor Bärbel Dieckmann of Bonn, Mayor Takehisa Matsubara of Nagoya, and Mayor Obed Mlaba of Durban.

Local Action for Biodiversity Project Steering Committee member and ICLEI Biodiversity Task Force Leader, Monika Zimmermann, presented on “Partnerships towards a global ICLEI programme on urban biodiversity”. LAB Steering Committee member and Head of Countdown 2010, Sebastian Winkler, presented “IUCN on Cities and Local Authorities in the Countdown 2010 network: results and perspectives”.
