Water Campaign™ Actions Profile

Local governments show their commitment to sustainable water management through action!

The recently launched Water Campaign™ Actions Profile includes actions undertaken by 13 Water Campaign™ participants from New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia, encompassing diverse council locations and population sizes.

In Australia, the Water Campaign™ is delivered by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability – Oceania (ICLEI Oceania).

To support the development and delivery of the Water Campaign™, ICLEI Oceania has partnered with the Australian Government Department of the Environment and Water Resources, the Government of Western Australia Department of Water, City West Water, South East Water, Yarra Valley Water, Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board, Northern and Yorke Natural Resources Management Board, South Australian Murray Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Board and Central Local Government Region of South Australia.

The Water Campaign™ Actions Profile was launched at the ACCELERATING NOW! Conference

The actions outlined in the Water Campaign™ Actions Profile are highly transferable and provide examples of how local governments are approaching sustainable water management.

The featured actions demonstrate some of the tangible contributions local governments are making to water resource management: from the development of design guidelines to innovative irrigation approaches and directly engaging communities.

ICLEI Oceania acknowledges the financial support provided by the Australian Government, the Government of Western Australia, City West Water, South East Water and Yarra Valley Water to produce this publication.
