City Councilmember Henrietta Davis

Biography:
Henrietta Davis was first elected to the Cambridge City Council in 1995, and is currently serving her seventh term. During her six Council terms, Councilmember Davis has focused on energy and the environment, non-auto transportation, neighborhood preservation, providing municipal wifi and bridging the digital divide, and children's health.  Councilmember Davis has been especially active in leading city efforts on climate protection and energy efficiency, working closely with the Cambridge Energy Alliance in support of its goal to have 50% of all buildings in the city energy-efficient. She led the city council effort to adopt a green building policy for all new city buildings and an ordinance to protect trees at development sites.

Currently, Councilmember Davis serves as chair of the Cable TV, Telecommunications and Public Utilities Committee and the Health and Environment Committee. She also serves as Vice Chair of the National League of Cities Steering Committee on Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources and as the elected officials liaison to ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability.
