Biography:
Kim Peterson is currently the global warming project manager for the City of Aspen. In that role she designs programs and policies to dramatically reduce Aspen’s greenhouse gas emissions and provides education and outreach to the community.
Previously Kim was a project manager for the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund where she designed and managed incentive programs to encourage customer-sited renewable energy systems. From 2001-2005, Kim was a project leader at the National Renewable Energy Lab in Golden, CO where she helped deploy renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies to local and state governments. Kim got her start in energy, environment and local government work during her 7 year tenure with the U.S. Conference of Mayors. There she led the Joint Center for Sustainable Communities and worked on water and legislative issues for cities.
Kim holds a masters degree in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University and a bachelors degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Kim has also studied abroad in Italy and Costa Rica.
