- Past President, Tennessee Urban Forestry Council.
- Past Board Member, Tennessee Urban Forestry Council.
- Served as Chairman for various committees of the Society of Municipal Arborists.
- Served as a judge in various events during the Tennessee Tree Climbing Championship.
- Served as a speaker for many local, state, and national conferences.
- Employed as the City Forester in Chattanooga since 1990.
- Served as the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Director for Tennessee 2004-2006.
- Received the 2000 Council Member Award from the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council.
- Received the 2005 Urban Forestry Award for Individual/Group Partnership from the Southern Group of State Foresters.
- Received the Award of Merit from the Society of Municipal Arborists, 2005.
- Board Member, Society of Municipal Arborists 2006 - present.
