Biography:
Felicity Fahyis the Sustainability Manger with the City of Eugene. A newly created position that focuses on the coordination and championing of internal sustainability initiatives, staffing the Sustainability Commission (a policy advisory body to the City Council and City manager) and working with governmental, business and community partners to develop and implement visions and plans to help the region become more sustainable. The City of Eugene has been a leader in sustainable practices since the early 1990s, and formally adopted a broad sustainability policy in 2000. Expanding on that longstanding commitment, in January 2007 the City Council added “Sustainability” as one of its top goals for 2007-2008.
Felicity has 20 years of experience in the fields of environmental education, policy, planning, community facilitationand research. She has had the pleasure and challenge of working in a variety of positions in New Zealand, the United Kingdomand the U.S. She holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physical Geography from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
