Biography:
Anthony Amato is a climate change and energy analyst at Eastern Research Group (ERG), a nationally recognized environmental consulting firm. ERG’s business practice includes performing energy and climate change research and policy analysis, developing greenhouse gas emissions inventories, evaluating clean energy technologies, and conducting energy efficiency assessments. Anthony’s work focuses on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate change policy issues. As a contractor to EPA’s Green Power Partnership, Anthony assists organizations interested in reducing their carbon emissions by purchasing green power. He has worked with Fortune 500 companies, colleges and universities, and local, state, and federal entities to procure green power and promote their environmental leadership. Anthony helped EPA develop and launch the Green Power Community program, in which residents and local businesses conduct green power campaigns to collectively buy green power in amounts that meet or exceed EPA’s green power purchase requirements. Anthony earned his Ph.D. in Public Policy at the University of Maryland and has a Masters in Energy and Environmental Analysis from Boston University.
