Lord Mayor Dieter Salomon on international missions

Executive Committee Member Lord Mayor Dieter Salomon of Freiburg (Germany) promotes sustainable development, his city and ICLEI on international missions.
At a beginning-of-year meeting in Freiburg, ICLEI’s Secretary General Konrad Otto-Zimmermann briefed Executive Committee Member Lord Mayor Dieter Salomon on ICLEI’s international agenda for the year 2008.
Fitting with ICLEI’s international agenda, Mr. Salomon will participate in a conference on local sustainable development in Tel Aviv (Israel) in February. He has also accepted an invitation by the U.S. government to speak at the Washington International Renewable Energy Conference (WIREC 2008). This event will bring together government, civil society and private business leaders to address the benefits and costs of a major and rapid scale-up in the global deployment of renewable energy technology.
