19-09-07
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is providing $US 140,000 for ICLEI climate work in Brazil, coordinated by the U.S.A. Office.
The US EPA will be providing ICLEI with $US 140,000 for a local methane partnership for greenhouse gas emissions reductions at municipal levels in three to five local governments in Brazil. These local governments have yet to be identified.
The project is a joint venture between ICLEI’s Latin America and Caribbean Secretariat and the ICLEI U.S.A. Office.
This funding is part of the EPA’s Methane to Markets Partnership that will be providing funds for the capture and use of methane as a clean energy source in China, Russia, Argentina, Brazil, India, Korea, Mexico, Nigeria and the Ukraine.
