Case Study 63 - Jinja Incentive Grants Project - Jinja, Uganda

Case Study 65 - Paper Recycling and Composting Project - Mutare, Zimbabwe
Waste Reduction and Poverty Alleviation By working with community partners, Mutare reduced waste going to their dumpsite through composting at both the municipal and household levels, and through recycling initiatives on the part of the local authority, private sector and community. As well, the community was mobilized to ensure support and participation in waste reduction and recycling. As part of these initiatives, Mutare created employment opportunities for both women and youth.

Case Study 66 - Water Kiosk Project - Nakuru, Kenya
Accessible Drinking Water Supply for Low-Income Communities Nakuru worked with and built the capacity of residents and community-based organizations to construct and manage a series of water kiosks in a low-income area. The kiosks, managed by the community, will provide clean water at reasonable rates as well as generate well-paying, long-term employment positions.

Case Study 70 - Enviromental Restoration of the Goreangab Dam Area - Windhoek, Namibia
Water Quality in the Goreangab Dam Windhoek used a two-pronged approach to address the environmental problems associated with the dam. Windhoek developed an environmental management plan for the dam that outlined improvements to physical urban infrastructure and launched an environmental education campaign to ensure the long-term sustainability of the project through public awareness and participation.
