Buenos Aires officially welcomes ICLEI-LACS

The government of the city of Buenos Aires officially welcomed ICLEI’s Latin America and Caribbean Secretariat (ICLEI-LACS) on 10 May. Over 200 people were in attendance, including the city’s Minister of the Environment, Mr. Juan Manuel Velasco. Others in attendance included Mr. Marcelo Godoy, Vice President of the Ecology Commission; Mr. Pablo Mesa, Director of Environmental Management; senior government officials; members of the House of Representatives; representatives of international cooperation offices; and members of the public. ICLEI’s Program Coordinator Ms Diana Segovia thanked authorities for their support in the establishment of ICLEI-LACS in Buenos Aires, and she renewed the commitment of sharing tasks and responsibilities.
