MOU signed between ICLEI and REEEP

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between ICLEI and REEEP, the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership. REEEP is a Type II Initiative and coalition of progressive governments, businesses and organizations committed to accelerating the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency systems, initiated at the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg (South Africa: 2002). The partners share the goal of promoting sustainable energy sources and services, and agree to a mutually beneficial cooperation on activities that promote energy efficiency and renewable energy sources; support the decentralized use of indigenous energy sources; and improve access by communities in developing countries to affordable, reliable and clean energy services.
