City of Barcelona and the LAB 5-step process
All 21 LAB pioneer local governments go through a 5-step process, culminating in the implementation of five new biodiversity initiatives. The steps are as follows:
Step 1: Production of a biodiversity report
Step 2: Acceptance of the Durban Commitment - Barcelona have signed
Step 3: Production of a Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (LBSAP)
Step 4: Acceptance of a commitment to the LBSAP
Step 5: Implementation of five new or improved biodiversity initiatives
1) Green urban corridor Ciutadella-Collserola development;
2) Montjuïc cliff protection;
3) Protection of urban bird populations;
4) Biodiversity dissemination actions;
5) Barcelona’s international commitment to biodiversity
