New by-law to control major emissions of fine particulate matter goes to public review
A proposed by-law to assess and control major emissions of fine particulate matter in Oakville (Ontario) was released for public review and comment by Oakville Town Council at a recent special meeting. [More]



Meeting Kyoto in Vancouver
The City of Vancouver announces that their greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced back to 1990 levels. They are on track to meeting the Kyoto target of a 6% reduction below 1990 levels by 2012. World Energy Cities Partnership signing of the Calgary Climate Change Accord
The World Energy Cities Partnership, a group of 15 of the world’s energy producing cities, gathered in Calgary from October 5-9 to discuss climate change action plans and explore strategies for reducing our carbon footprint.The mayors of nine of these international energy cities signed this landmark accord that commits to aggressive greenhouse gas reduction targets for their municipal operations and wider communities, and calls for action and leadership on climate change.  [Read More]
