Planning and Review

Note: The production of the materials on this website was funded by the Australian Government for use by local governments which were part of the Cities for Climate Protection Australia Milestone Support Program that ended on 30 June 2009. Please note that ICLEI Oceania Program and Project support, the Greenhouse Gas Application (GGA) and milestone recognition is no longer available.

Planning and Review (P&R) provides council with the opportunity to assess its progress towards its reduction goals and reassess the strategic direction of the Local Action Plan (LAP). It also provided a valuable opportunity to highlight council’s achievements and to assess key learnings.

Completing CCP Plus P&R involves the following four key elements:

  1. A full reinventory of corporate and community (where data is available) greenhouse gas emissions
  2. Quantification of all abatement measures that result in an impact in the reinventory year
  3. A review and realignment of council’s LAP including the addition of new actions
  4. A P&R report endorsed by the General Manager/CEO or council incorporating the previous three elements.
