Milestone 2: Reduction GoalsNote: The production of the materials on this website was funded by the Australian Government for use by local governments which were part of the Cities for Climate Protection Australia Milestone Support Program that ended on 30 June 2009. Please note that ICLEI Oceania Program and Project support, the Greenhouse Gas Application (GGA) and milestone recognition is no longer available. A Milestone 2 reduction goal is a council-endorsed, public statement that states the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions to be achieved by a specified goal year. There are different types of reduction goals; however, they are typically expressed as a percentage figure of corporate and community emissions. Examples of typical reduction goals might be: A 20% reduction in corporate emissions below 1998 levels by 2010.A 25% reduction in community emissions below 1998 levels by 2010.View the goals set by CCP councils. |
