These case studies highlight examples of how local councils are playing a leading role in residential-based greenhouse gas emission reduction strategies.
Energy Smart Homes Program - Coffs Harbour City Council: The aim of the Energy Smart Homes Program was to reduce community based greenhouse gas emissions by encouraging householders to reduce their electricity consumption and switch to Greenpower from Country Energy. Participating households received a gift pack including CFL globes, AAA rated showerheads, an information pack and an energy star rating.

This resource also offers helpful tips for what people can do at home to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
