Spring into action with April’s Sustainable Procurement Update

This month’s ICLEI Sustainable Procurement Update is jam-packed with the latest news on projects, conferences and Procura+ members.

First up is a report about the hugely successful EcoProcura 2009 Conference in Reykjavik (Iceland), which was attended by 220 delegates from 41 countries. These delegates witnessed an unprecedented moment, when a new Icelandic sustainable procurement national action plan was signed by the Ministers of the Environment and Finance.

The update also features the latest project news, including a report about a series of training sessions on Green Procurement which will be held in five urban areas across Germany. It has been a busy Spring for the Procura+ campaign with a new chair and vice chairs announced.  ICLEI member city Helsinki, (Finland) will take the lead role with fellow ICLEI member Barcelona (Spain), and Lille (France), announced as Vice Chairs.
