Solar power brightens energy costs
March 24, 2009
On March 1, 2009 the city of Gumi began implementing a building project for 100,000 solar powered houses in order to actively deal with climate change and diversify energy use through the expansion of new and renewable energy. The project will continue for eight months, ending October 31, 2009.
Installation of solar power will translate into substantial energy savings for homeowners. For example, a house that use 470 KWH per month can save 1,100,000 won ($793 USD) per year, and a house that uses 630KWH per month can save 2,140,000 won ($1,543 USD) per year by installing solar power.
Join other ICLEI members in promoting local renewable energy
