ICLEI now has Members in 67 countries - with its newest Member in Bangladesh

Located in the northwestern region and bordered by the Jamuna and Gange rivers, Rajshahi is one of four major urban centres in Bangladesh, along with Dhaka, Khulna and Chittagong. Rajshahi is a university town, the center of the silk industry, and an important cultural center.
A promoter of sustainability
Rajshahi is active in promoting sustainability. It has participated in the Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities and been the focal point of a study about environmental considerations in urban agriculture, published in the June 2007 issue of The Journal of Geo-Environment by the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at Rajshahi University.
ICLEI now in 67 countries
ICLEI is proud to now work with 67 countries, of which 4 are located in the South Asia Region: India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.
