Clean Technology and Infrasture in India

ICLEI-South Asia, along with United States - Department of State and German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), Advisory Services in Environmental Management (ASEM) on behalf of Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), announces an international workshop on Including Clean Technology and Efficiency Measures while Developing Infrastructure Projects for Improved Urban Environment at Coimbatore 0n 13-14 March 2009. The workshop is being organised under the Urban Climate Project that aims towards a comprehensive and multi sector clean development strategy backed by real investment capital mainly targeting the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) scheme and other urban development projects. The workshop plans to take further ICLEI-South Asia’s agenda of improving urban environment in Indian cities. The workshop will also include events under two other ICLEI – South Asia’s initiatives i.e the Urban Environment Accords review and the Local Renewable project.
