ICLEI helps its USA Members to access stimulus funding
February 18, 2009
With the passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, local governments in the United States have new sources of funding to help further their climate action and sustainability goals.
ICLEI USA and their partners at Climate Communities are working hard to ensure that local governments have the information they need to take advantage of the incredible influx of federal funding through the economic stimulus. This includes more than $45 billion in new spending and tax breaks for energy efficiency and renewable energy programs.
The latest edition of Capital Corner, ICLEI's bi-weekly update on federal climate and energy policy, outlines the major green stimulus programs and provides instructions on how local governments can access funding for each one.
