Brimbank offers sustainable gardening
December 19, 2007
Residents of Brimbank, Australia could purchase mulch and compost created with recycled organics from selected garden retailers at very competitive prices.
The quality recycled mulch and compost was derived from the green waste the community puts out for collection. At a local processor, the organic material was treated and made into fertilizer or mulch in accordance with Australians standards.
During the promotion, which ran until 14 December, residents were able to buy mulch at approx. $US 26 ($AUS 30) per cubic metre, and compost at $US 34 ($AUS 40) per cubic metre. Purchases of $US 86 ($AUS 100) of mulch and/or other water saving measures received a $AUS 30 rebate off the customers next water bill.
Brimbank Mayor, Councillor Giudice, urged residents to take advantage of this great offer. “The sustainable gardening offer offers residents an opportunity to get these wonderful products at a reduced rate,” said Mayor Giudice.
