Citizens engaged in making Moraga sustainable
January 02, 2008
A local, grassroots citizen’s group in Moraga (California, U.S.A.), Sustainable Moraga, is helping people and organizations to make Moraga a more sustainable community.
The organization firmly believes that all elements of local society – local residents, businesses and town government – can take proactive, meaningful steps to minimize the footprint on the planet. Through awareness, education and action, Sustainable Moraga helps people and organizations to become ‘conscious consumers’ actively preserving the environment and making Moraga a better place to live.
Some of the sustainability solutions that the organization focuses on are recycling, energy efficiency, organic foods, green business practices, green building and remodeling principles, trails and other green spaces, water issues, transportation alternatives, pesticide reduction, air quality, allergies and environmentally-friendly home products.
