Emergency Plans in place in Provincetown

An emergency plan working group was recently formed in Provincetown (Massachusetts, U.S.A.).

The goal of the working group is to develop and implement comprehensive response plans that are effective and efficient in addressing human and/or natural threats to the public health and safety of the Provincetown community.

The city recommends that each household have a 72-hour comprehensive response plan that is packed with essential items to help families survive, whether they remain at home or seek other shelter during a disaster.  An essential list of supplies for that 72-hour period is provided by the city.

Similarly, city officials recommend a survival plan be made for family pets.

Hurricanes are prevalent in the Provincetown area in the months of August, September and October each year.
