Tour Zagreb by Segway

July 25, 2007

Visitors to Zagreb (Croatia) can tour the city on a segway.

A segway is a single person transport vehicle that runs on electricity and allows its user to easily get around without polluting the environment.

Three types of tours are offered:  a welcome tour that takes the rider to 20 locations in the city center area; an All Around Tour covering the wider Zagreb area; and a Zagreb Leisure Tour offering additional tourist attractions.

The tours are all guided, and include a short training session on using segways.  The tours run from April through November every year, on a daily basis.

Private and commercial vehicles are a leading source of greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants.  Reducing vehicle use and using alternative forms of transportation and alternative fuels are some approaches to reducing these vehicular emissions.  For more information, please visit www.iclei.org/ccp.

Zagreb is one of 164 local governments in Europe that are currently Members of ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability.  For more information on ICLEI and its activities in Europe, please visit www.iclei.org/europe.
