February 10, 2009
The Improvement and Development Agency for Local Government (IDeA), in assocation with the Nottingham Declaration Partnership, is hosting the Local Government Climate Change Online Conference, which will take place on 23-27 February.
The conference is free to attend online and will draw on speakers from Audit Commission, ICLEI, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC), Energy Saving Trust, Environment Agency, Carbon Trust, Local Government Association, UK Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP) and the Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnerships.
The programme will cover a broad range of topics, such as mitigation, adaptation, regional and area based action as well as relevant action from overseas. The conference will provide practical guidance and clarification as well as means of achieving targets as local authorities begin to move towards implementation of Local Area Agreements (LAA) and gear up for the Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA).
Participants will be signposted to relevant case studies and examples of domestic and international good practice and be able to clarify questions through live interaction with the experts.
