Local Government Climate Roadmap, European forum, 10 February 2009
January 08, 2009
'From Bali to Poznan to Copenhagen' Local Government Climate Roadmap, European Forum at the EUSEW 2009.
The European Secretariat of ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability is organising the European Forum on 10 February 2009 in Brussels, as part of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW).
The event will be used to present to local governments and other levels of government in Europe recent developments in the Local Government Climate Roadmap (www.iclei.org/climate-roadmap), and to discuss and gather comments from European cities and towns, as well as their national governments, as input towards the Conference of the Parties 15 (COP 15).
This international Local Government Climate Roadmap was initiated by several global Local Government Associations at the COP14 in Bali in December 2007, mirroring the UN Climate Roadmap. Local governments aim to politically influence the climate negotiations during the UN Roadmap process leading up to COP15 in Copenhagen, December 2009, to support an improved global climate protection framework.
Registration for the European Forum can be done on www.eusew.eu. Kindly note that limited places are left, so please register soon if you wish to attend this event!
