European Members recognized for planning for European Mobility Week 2006
July 05, 2006
Local authorities in Europe were recognized for the activities planned in their communities to mark European Mobility Week 2006. Copenhagen has won first prize – for the fourth time - and ICLEI Member Budapest (Hungary) was one of the top three finalists.
European Mobility Week runs from September 16-22, 2006, when citizens across Europe will have the opportunity to enjoy a full week of events dedicated to sustainable mobility. The objective is to facilitate widespread debate on the necessity for changes in behaviour in relation to mobility and in particular, the use of the private car. The central theme for European Mobility Week 2006 is climate change.
