ICLEI Asian Member Environmental Forum

Suwon City (Korea) is generously hosting an environmental forum in September of this year for local governments in Asia to discuss the following key environmental issues: green purchasing, integrated water resources management, and policies for the prevention of climate change. The purpose of the conference will be to exchange good examples, share experiences from a local level, and to discuss the way forward.

The dates of the Forum will be September 18-20, 2006.

There are presently 83 local governments and civic groups in Asia that are Members of ICLEI. Invited to the Forum will be ICLEI Members, as well as local, regional and national government officials, representatives of ngo’s, researchers and students.

In the words of Mayor Kim Yong-Seo, “Join our efforts towards a green future, and a Green Asia.”
