Charles Sturt, Australia: Recipient of the 2006 Judy Walker Memorial Prize

Charles Sturt, Australia was recently selected as the recipient of the 2006 Judy Walker Memorial Prize for expanding its successful Cities for Climate Protection Business Energy Partnership to fellow Australian ICLEI Members Frankston and Gosford, and Australian CCP Campaign participant Tea Tree Gully. The Partnership engages the business sector in a City’s greenhouse gas (ghg) reduction strategy through a partnership with large private sector companies to help small and medium enterprises reduce ghg emissions through energy efficiency.
The Judy Walker Memorial Prize recognizes ICLEI Members that have undertaken or are currently undertaking a project or program focusing on Member to Member solidarity, cooperation, and exchange.
Charles Sturt will receive an expenses-paid trip to attend the ICLEI 2006 World Congress in Cape Town (February 27 – March 3), and will have a case study written on the Cities for Climate Protection Business Energy Partnership.
