ICLEI is now GGKP’s first urban-focused Knowledge Partner

ICLEI and the Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP) have just signed a partnership agreement. ICLEI is now GGKP’s first urban-focused Knowledge Partner.

GGKP Knowledge Partners constitute a loose network of institutions interested in exchanges about their respective work  programmes in the green growth space and in mutually beneficial collaboration. ICLEI will be able to contribute to the GGKP’s growing body of research and knowledge through multiple channels, including the GGKP website. Becoming a Knowledge Partner also serves as the entry point for ICLEI in more intimate engagement with GGKP.

Given ICLEl’s expertise in urban development and participation in the Urbanization Knowledge Partnership, there are no doubt useful synergies between ICLEI’s work program and activities on green growth and those of the GGKP. These could, for example, focus on ensuring GGKP's research programs reílect the knowledge and priorities of cities, providing a knowledge base for devising tailored green growth/green economy policy packages for cities, and expanding North-South and South-South co-operation and knowledge­-sharing in these areas.
