ICLEI attends Western Cape Climate Change Strategy Stakeholder Workshop

On the 26 September the Western Cape Government, South Africa, held a stakeholder workshop in order to seek input into the revision of the provinces Climate Change Strategy. Numerous stakeholders were present, including the ICLEI Africa Secretariat, as well as local municipalities including ICLEI host City of Cape Town.

Stakeholders were given this opportunity as one of the first of a number of stakeholder workshops to provide inputs into the strategy. The strategy covers both adaptation and mitigation and aims to be aligned with South Africa’s National Climate Change Response White Paper Provincial Strategic Objectives.
