Thanks to work done by leading cities, many under ICLEI’s BiodiverCities Programme, the important role of local authorities in curbing biodiversity loss at the global level has never been more valued and respected. If your local authority is not yet part of ICLEI’s global biodiversity programme, BiodiverCities, now is the perfect time to join. Through the BiodiverCities Programme your city can play a significant and prominent international role in the burgeoning field of urban biodiversity management, a key aspect for overall environmental sustainability.
