Best Short Film award for SANBI's "The Guardian"

At the recent 2011 Wild Talk Africa international film festival, the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI), along with the Social Transformation & Empowerment Projects (STEPS), received the ROSCAR Award for Best Short Film. The ceremony was held at Spier Estate near Cape Town, South Africa.

The film, entitled "The Guardian" was submitted by the winners along with eight other CareTakers films as a teaching, advocacy and information sharing tool. CareTakers is a documentary film project about South Africa's natural heritage and those who care for it.
