The third International LAB Workshop was hosted in partnership with the Bergrivier Municipality in South Africa from 31 January to 4 February 2011. This meeting of local governments from around the world showcased cutting-edge biodiversity management at the local level and inspiring strategic input into the LAB Programme as a whole. A wide variety of topics, tools and mechanisms were discussed with particular emphasis on their application for local governments, and their complementary role in the LAB process.
